Light Based Sensors for New Functions in Cars
Dr. Markus Arzberger, General Manager at Osram Opto Semiconductors, Product Line Sensors

Light based sensors are an essential part of today’s vehicles and will enable additional functions in cars in the future. Complex systems of sensors are needed to provide relevant information about the environment for adaptive lighting systems. In addition, light based LIDAR systems and other sensor are needed to ensure the safety of semi and fully autonomous vehicles. The presentation will provide an overview of the technologies and the system setups for both applications.
    2:45 PM
Panel: Data is The Lifeblood of AI, Sensors Are the Source
Data is at the heart of AI and thus in autonomous functions in vehicles. Data flows through processors and storage, and fueling training, machine learning, machine vision, automation, and 3D modelling. And the source of that data is sensors. Overlapping, mulit-modal, redundant sensors are needed both for mapping the world, and also for navigating through that mapped model. Today's panel will talk about the growing importance of sensors in the mobility industry, and their role in ADAS, autonomy, user safety, comfort, and convenience.
