Keynote: New Business Models Through the Cognitive Car
Donna Satterfield, Vice President, Americas Automotive, Aerospace & Defense Industry Leader at IBM Corporation

Technological advancement, regulatory mandates and a features "arms race" has resulted in an in-vehicle HMI viewed as overwhelming, non-intuitive and rigid. As such, drivers are unaware of features that would improve their driving and ownership experience and are frustrated by not understanding how to use or change known features.

Human-centered design and cognitive solutions offer automakers the opportunity to rethink the relationship between people and cars, completely transforming the driving and ownership experience. Feature adoption, safety and customer satisfaction, and ultimately loyalty results in a shift from a mind-set of people taking care of their cars, to a new world where cars take care of people.
    9:40 AM
Panel: The State of Automotive Computer Vision

Computer Vision is a field with uses from industrial and factory quality control, to drones, to medical and X-ray analysis, to automotive. Our interests, naturally, lie primarily in the ADAS and autonomous car arenas. On this panel, we'll discuss the progress in the automotive field, look at the latest developments, the trends, and where opportunities for improvements still exist.
